Why we should not have assign lunch seats

Middle schoolers should be able to sit where they want to at lunch. The current situation of some middle schools is assigned tables and people do not sit with their friends. This causes middles schoolers to disrupt class because they can not sit with their friends at lunch. Middle schoolers should be able to sit where they want to at lunch.

First, kids do not get time during the school day to talk to their friends. “Lunchtime is the one time when kids have freedom.” Kids want to be able to talk with their friends during the school day and you do not have time to always talk with your friends, so lunchtime should be the place. In order for people to talk with their friends, you need to be able to sit with them and you do not always get the opportunity to sit with them because of their assigned seats.

Next, you can not always build on friendships if you are not able to talk with your friends.

“Toward middle and high school, cliques are typically broken up to prevent or combat bullying and classrooms are often shuffled for size and ability. Lunchtime is shorter, as is the time between classes.” You do not always get time to talk with your friends so, it can hurt some friendships and lunchtime should be the time to be able to talk with your friends.

Some people get left out and it is not fair to some kids but people need to know how to join people in and not exclude people. “It can make you feel like crying or just feel really angry or sad. You might feel lonely at lunch or after school, or even afraid if you feel that someone might pick on you or fight with you.” Kids should find a way to make sure people are not left out and to be nice to everyone and everyone that does not want to have assigned seats needs to join people in.

Middle schoolers disrupt class, kids want to have one part of the day to talk with your friends, and some people get left out and do not have people to sit with. In conclusion I think kids should be able to pick where they want to sit at lunch.
