Video games should be allowed in school
Imaging kids having fun at school and wanting to stay this is why we need video games at school. Video games should be allowed in school because they can help kids learn and a lot of kids already play games and playing games can help kids to read, navigate and problem solve.
First, a lot of kids already play video games like Roblox and Minecraft. There are 90 million monthly active users on Roblox, appealing to users as young as six years old! The results show that 53% of kids aged 6 to 8, and 68% of kids aged 9 to 12, are playing Minecraft.
Also, games can help with reading, navigating and problem-solving. Studies show that kids who play video games may get a small boost to their reading skills. This is true even for kids who struggle with reading. Many games (Like Minecraft) are set in 3D virtual worlds that kids have to navigate. And there’s no GPS or smartphone map app to lead the way. At the heart of every video game is a challenge. Some games can be mindless, from puzzles and mysteries and all sorts of games. Games offer kids the chance to take on a problem and work to find a solution.
Some people say ¨ video games are inappropriate and distracting but there are educational sites and games that are good to get distracted in like ABCya! and Prodigy.
In conclusion, games should be allowed in school because they can help kids, a lot of kids already play games and there are educational sites and games.
