Podcast Review - Ologies by Alie Ward

PODCAST REVIEW

This is the second podcast in Podcast Reviewstm. Called, Ologies by Alie Ward. Please leave any suggestions or comments about today’s podcast.
Alie Ward is an American writer, actress, painter, and a podcast & television host. She has been the host of, or in, six TV shows (mostly in cooking programs). Alie even won an Emmy Award for a science show on CBS called ¨The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation with Mo Rocca¨ and the host of ¨Did I mention Invention?¨. Now for a little insight on her podcast, she's been planning this show for more than a decade (over ten years!!). Ward’s podcast is a comedy and science podcast where she interviews ologists on the ¨ologies¨ they study. Examples are, Volcanology (volcanoes), Primatology (Monkeys & apes), Thanatology (Death and dying), and, one of my favorites, Entomology (Insects)! And many, many others.
How it Works
First, Alie gets together with and ologist that she has chosen and sits down and interviews them (very informally, which is hilarious), these interviews usually last about one hour. After there is a segment in which she takes questions from her patron members, ¨ologits¨ (what she calls her fans), and allows them to ask a question to the ologist she's interviewing.
My Opinion
I'm in love with this podcast, it satisfies my nerdy needs. I LOVE science so when I found this podcast it instantly became a favorite! Alie Ward is probably should be person of the year because she does an absolutely fantastic job hosting and keeping the podcast chatty and fun. It's interesting, exciting, and the kind of thing you look forward to. I recommend this podcast to anyone with a passion for science and extraordinary scientific mysteries. 10/10!

Podcast Review- Wait Wait... Don´t Tell Me! by NPR

PODCAST REVIEW

This is the start of a string of podcast reviews, opening with an amazing podcast called Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! By NPR. Please comment suggestions.
This is a news-humor panel show by NPR (National Public Radio) and WBEZ in Chicago, Illinois in the Chase Bank Auditorium on Thursday nights. This show is hosted by Peter Sagal and Bill Kurtis, it took its debut in January of 1998 and is still ongoing.
How it Works
Listeners of this podcast call or email to nominate themselves as contestants in sort of a game show manner. Then the host, Peter, selects about two or three contestants to play in the latest news related games, such as Bluff the Listener, Not my Job, Listener Limerick Challenge, and Lightning Fill-in-the-blank. If one contestant wins three points by these games the prize is to have one of the panelists or hosts record a greeting for the winner.
My Opinion
This podcast is one of my favorite (that says a lot) it's witty, entertaining and gives you a good verse in what's happening in the latest news in a non-boring way. I definitely recommend this podcast, it's the best NPR show by far! Not to mention the hosts are wonderfully humorous and amusing, it really feels like a game show. *podcast suitable for all ages
