Homework should be banned

Homework Should Be Banned
Every day a kid is struggling to do homework getting 5 hours of sleep from staying up to do it. Waking up early so tired they can't mentally be at that class. They can not figure out how to do their homework and the cycle keeps going every day. Homework is harmful to the brain, its harmful to their sleep schedule, and harmful to their time. This is why teachers should stop giving students homework.

First, teachers should ban homework because too much homework is harmful to the brain. ¨Homework can and will affect both of the student’s physical and mental health from the brain.¨(Stanfford University)  Both of these healths are very critical to the brain if the homework gets too bad. Homework can do many more things to the brain too.

Then homework should be banned because homework reduces sleep from kids. With homework kids and teens are getting at the average sleep they get 6-8 hours of sleep every night. Said (Michelle Galdi). Kids and teens should at the minimum get 9-9.5 hours of sleep every night. Kids and teens will get sleep-deprived from tiny amounts of sleep every night. Kids and teens spend an average of 3-4 hours on homework.
It is often argued the homework helps parents be involved in what their children are learning at school. Certainly, it will help the parents interact and get more involved in the child’s life at school. However, the parents can add more stress by helping and burns both of the parent’s and kid’s free time. Said (kids learning HQ). First, there’s already stress on the kids from the homework and most of the time when parents help they add double the stress to the homework. Then it wastes lots of time for the kids and the parents.
This is why all schools and teachers should stop giving students homework. Homework is harmful to a child’s sleep schedule, its harmful to the brain, and is time-wasting. Kids should not have to do homework if they are learning that subject for that whole time period.
