Emts should be paid more.

The stress from crisis calls have a chance to result in mental or physical health problems for Paramedics. Emt’s get called out for emergencies around 594,692 times a day. That's on average, per day. For doing all those calls, they get paid only $14 an hour. That's approximately 30k to 45k a year.

First, their job is very important. They don't get paid what they deserve for what they're doing. They work 40 hours a week, night and day. According to, How much does an Emt get paid in a week? They average only $577 in a week. They get paid under minimum wage. Minimum wadge in 2020 is $15 Emt’s get paid $14 an hour.

Second, they deal with stressful and/or scary situations. For example, if they are treating a shooting victim, and the shooter has not been detained they are then putting themselves at risk. Jason Hernandez says on What it's like to be a paramedic ¨ You have to worry about the dangers of a chaotic environment, from violent people to safety on the road.¨ This quote shows just how scary paramedics jobs are.

Although this is all true People are responsible for their own actions. If someone gets hurt they should have been responsible for their own actions in the first place. But, they can't control what happens to them. They may have used self-defense or any other type of defense. So, the injury or incident may have not been self-inflicted or purposely inflected. For example strokes, heart attacks seizers, etc.

In conclusion, Paramedics should be paid at least $30 an hour for the 40 hours they work a week. First, their job is very important. Next, they deal with stressful and/or scary situations. And lastly, people cont control what happens to them.
