Stella the German Short-Haired Pointer

This is my puppy, Stella.

Hi. My name is Ashleigh and this is my dog, Stella. Stella is a German Short-Haired Pointer (GSP). How many of you have heard of a GSP and what they do? If you didn't know GSPs are known as hunting dogs. When they are hunting, and they see/hear something they will point (which is why they're called German Short-Haired Pointers). To learn more about GSPs got to these websites: https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/german-shorthaired-pointer/ & https://dogtime.com/dog-breeds/german-shorthaired-pointer#/slide/1

This is what it looks like when a GSP is pointing.

Why Did We Get a Dog?
My siblings and I wanted another dog for 4 years, but my mom didn't want another one (she didn't even want the one she had before). My mom is an actual crazy cat lady. She has 5 cats, yes 5, that is a lot if you ask me. Would you really want to live with 5 cats? She doesn't like dogs because they're "so much more work than a cat". My mom and Matt (my mom's boyfriend) didn't think us kids could take care of a dog even though we already help take care of fish, ducks, chickens, and cats. After convincing my mom for a while she finally found the dog she liked GSPs. She heard they could help with our chickens and ducks.

The Big Day!
She sleeps all the time.
One morning (Leiland was sleeping over at the time) I woke up early to my mom saying "You have a visitor!" I could hear a cat meowing and assumed she was talking about the cat wanting to get in. I sighed and tried to go back to sleep, but my mom told me to come downstairs. We walked to the garage door and I thought oh no. A while ago a cat got into our garage. We took her in and that's how we got our 5th cat, Cali. I thought it was another cat and was not amused. When I opened the door I saw something through the window of our car, IT WAS A DOG! What would your reaction be to seeing your parents have a dog for you? I was so excited I didn't know what to say. I immediately played with the puppy and then I asked if this was really our dog. A few minutes had passed and I gathered everybody to share the news. We all love our dog so much and wouldn't want to trade her for the world.

This is a picture from the first day we got her.
