Neptune Facts

Image result for neptune farther than the sun

A year on Neptune lasts only 165 Earth years.
Neptune is the most distant planet from the Sun and the smallest gas giant in our solar system. Plus, Neptune is the fourth-largest planet in diameter, so it makes it the smallest in the physical size of the gas giants... I already said that, so I was making a point:)
Neptune is named after the Roman god of the sea and the reason behind that is that the Romans named the five planets closest to the Sun after their most important gods. Later, when telescopes were starting to be used, other planets were discovered. Astronomers decided to continue naming the planets after Roman gods.
Neptune has 6 faint rings; not as visible as Saturn, but somewhat there.
Neptune has a radius of 15,299.4 miles (24,622 kilometers) and is about four times wider than Earth. Neptune's atmosphere is made up of hydrogen and helium, with some methane. (Methane is a colorless and very flammable gas that can possibly explode when it is mixed with air.) The methane is what gives Neptune its blue tint, almost, and it absorbs red light and reflects bluer colors.
