I dislike lootboxes in video games because I don't like that they make people pay for their lootboxes just to get something better than someone else which causes people to spend more and more they can get the best. They get people (mainly children) addicted to spending their parent's money and their own money on their own game so they (the company) get a bigger profit. In these lootboxes they give players and each player a bigger advantage compared to someone else. I don't think it's right that they get people addicted so they can make a bigger profit off of their game because of it. It also makes people who possibly enjoy their game to dislike it because they are forced to pay for a bigger advantage so they do better. I hope that there will be a law disallowing pay to win lootboxes in video games in the United States. There are already laws banning loot boxes entirely in other countries such as Belgium. A good example of a company and game that uses lootboxes and tries to take people's money with it is Electronic Arts (EA for short) and their games, Fifa and Madden. In Fifa and Madden people open loot boxes (in this case, I believe packs) to get a specific player and the better the player somebody is generally they are harder to get. I don't get games from EA because I believe that they are a horrible company trying their hardest to get extra cash off of us consumers.
